Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche on Ngakso Puja

When practicing “Ngakso” we restore and purify our broken vows and samayas. The ritual is beneficial for an individual practice as well as for maintaining harmony within Sangha.

“Ngakso” was one of Sixteenth Karmapa's favorite rituals. Famous mediation master and father of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche emphasized the importance of performing Ngakso Puja. Thanks to him this practice is now annually performed in Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in Nepal.

Sadhana of “Ngakso” drubchen was developed by a Grand Tertön Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa based on his own terma, as well as many other tantric texts. It reveals many aspects of Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava, including his twelve manifestations, Avalokiteshvara, Amitabha, and hundered peaceful and wrathful Deities

Our Teacher

The name Chokyi Nyima can be translated in English as “The Sun of Buddhist Teaching”. Rinpoche is a Buddhist lama who is considered to be a seventh reincarnation of the Tibetan master Gar Drubchen and also emanation of the Indian master and philosopher of the II centure Nagarjuna.

Rinpoche completed a full course of Buddhist studies under the guidance of the most renowned masters of his time. He is the author of many Buddhist books, namely “The Bardo Guidebook”, “Present Fresh Wakefulness” and “Medicine and Compassion”.

He has been teaching meditation to people from Europe, USA and other parts of the world, starting from 1977. From time to time, he also gives talk at the most prominent universities in the world, namely Oxford and Harvard.

«There´s no greater foolishness than to spend one´s lifetime acknowledging that one is deluded and yet doing nothing whatsoever about it»

«Freedom means no fear. If there is fear there is no free. If there is shy there is no free. How to be free from fear? One must develop great love and great compassion. Loving, kindness and great compassion is the root of fearlessness»

«We may shout, ‘Let there be peace!’ but this won’t really bring peace. Peace will appear in the world around us only when each individual learns to tame the disturbances arising within his or her own mind»

«When someone whose heart is troubled and worried is, out of true affection and kindness, told “Relax, don’t worry,” this statement helps and can make a big difference»
